Hoposa Daina with Art Deco Style
November 5, 2020 | Blog
Here at Hoposa, we’re always striving to improve and expand our hospitality on the magical Mediterranean island of Mallorca. That constant effort has lately included some major renovations on some of our properties, and we’re excited today to spotlight the latest: the transformation of our flagship hotel, Hoposa Daina, into an Art Deco wonderland!
A New Incarnation of Our Beloved Hoposa Daina in Puerto Pollensa
Hoposa Daina first opened its doors way back in 1963, leading the way for the establishment and refinement of our Hoposa brand. These many decades later, it still offers some of the most popular and defining accommodations in Puerto Pollensa, with an enviable location overlooking the Bay of Pollensa and fronting the town’s lovely seaside pedestrian promenade.
Last winter, we rolled up our sleeves and executed a long-planned-for renovation of Hoposa Daina, reworking it into an Art Deco structure of glamorous, eye-catching flair.
Influenced by Cubism and defined by bold lines, bold colors, and an association with gilded luxury, Art Deco style emerged in France in the 1910s and 1920s, stepping into the global spotlight in 1925 via the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative & Industrial Arts in Paris. The name of the aesthetic comes from the French arts décoratifs, and its striking, modern look caught the attention of architects, artists, and designers the world over.
Art Deco flowered most famously amid the 1920s and ‘30s skyscrapers of Manhattan, including the gleaming Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.
We couldn’t be more excited to commemorate this influential and enduring look in our oldest Hoposa hotel, launching it on an entirely new chapter and, we hope, impressing both longtime guests of ours and brand-new travelers.
The Charm & Services of Hoposa Daina
Decked out in its fresh Art Deco look, Hoposa Daina continues to provide some of the absolutely top-tier luxury lodgings in Puerto Pollensa. Its seven floors include nearly 70 rooms, including top-floor suites with jacuzzies, many with balconies serving up lovely prospects of the bay, the port’s town-scape, and the looming limestone peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana.
You’ll enjoy amenities such as the saltwater swimming pool and the solarium, a bike garage and wash area (plus bike-rental services), and the epicurean pleasures of the Lemon Bar, on the shortlist of the best places to savor a cocktail on Mallorca.
Come experience Hoposa Daina’s new getup—and the same tremendous hospitality it’s offered for more than a half-century!
