Best Hotel to Enjoy Beach & Water Sports in Mallorca
March 10, 2021 | Blog
Now, don’t get us wrong: Inland Mallorca comes chockablock with wonderful scenery and loads of hidden gems. But there’s no question the majority of visitors to this biggest of the Balearic Islands are most excited about spending some quality time on that long, lovely seacoast of ours.
We don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that Mallorca’s one of the most coveted coastal destinations in the world: Such is the fame not only of our Mediterranean beaches but also the craggier, more rugged margins—bluffs, cliffs, mountainous headlands.
In today’s blogpost, we’re celebrating that magnificent meeting of land and sea and the many, many ways one can appreciate it on a getaway at a Hoposa hotel or vacation apartment!
Beachgoing in Mallorca
Mallorca’s beaches hold their own with any in the world. The beloved Puerto Pollensa beachfronts, the ravishing Playa de Formentor on its spectacularly scenic peninsula, the remote Cala Boquer, the seven-kilometer resplendence of Playa de Alcudia, the piney serenity of Cala Mesquida—there’s so much variety and postcard-perfection to the island’s numerous sandy and cobbly strands.
Make it a goal to visit them all on multiple Hoposa vacations!
Watersports Along the World-class Mallorcan Coast
Sunbathing, surf-edge strolling, beach-read-devouring, Mediterranean swimming: Those are perfectly respectable activities to fill a Hoposa itinerary anchored by plenty of Mallorcan beach appreciation.
But there’s so much more one can pursue along the Mallorcan seaboard, if you so desire. Launching a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard off the beach is sheer magic, not least during the fiery shimmer of daybreak or sunset.
Or crank up the adrenaline with some parasailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding—maybe even that gravity-defying craze of flyboarding, which can be sought out at several places on Mallorca, Puerto Pollensa (where most of our Hoposa properties are situated) very much included.
Sailing and yachting are classic Mediterranean pastimes as well. If you want to dip below the waters, meanwhile, some very fine SCUBA diving and snorkeling await you: chances to get up close and personal with dazzling Mallorcan sealife, from scorpionfish to moray eels to heavyweight groupers.
Adventurous types might also sign up for a guided taste of “coasteering,” a coastline version of canyoneering that can incorporate abseiling, cliff jumping, and brief bouts of swimming as you trek along scenic stretches of the island’s magnificent seafront.
